Dear Parent or Carer,

You will be aware of the recent updates on Covid 19. The government released the most recent advice yesterday afternoon. This is the information that you should be looking at when considering your options around social distancing and self isolation.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-guidance-on-social-distancing-and-for-vulnerable-people/guidance-on-social-distancing-for-everyone-in-the-uk-and-protecting-older-people-and-vulnerable-adults

At the current time we remain open and we are asking that parents and carers (and staff affected) make their own decisions regarding their child's attendance at school. However, where there are special health concerns that we feel need to be taken into consideration, we may provide more direct advice.

As per the last couple of weeks, the advice is changing rapidly and we will update you as we receive further information. We are very aware that the guidance is open to interpretation and this isn't always helpful in providing clarity so the right decision can be made. We are very happy to talk over with you any concerns you might have, though please be aware that we are not medical experts and we currently are managing a significant amount of conversations and queries.

As previous advice, we are balancing up constantly whether we are in a position to open fully, partially open or close. The uppermost thought is always whether we can maintain the safe running of either school.

Please, can I ask that you:

  • Regularly check Class Dojo and the school website for updates. Please read any information carefully
  • Contact us as soon as possible so that we have up to date and accurate information to go on

As a reminder, at Highfield Ely, please email head@highfield.cambs.sch.uk  At Highfield Littleport email yvonne.skillern@highfieldlittleport.org

Many thanks for your continued understanding while we work through the tricky time.

Simon Bainbridge
