Maths is fun, practical and linked to everyday life.

Within the Yellow Pathway we aim to develop an interest and enjoyment of the subject and a confidence in their own mathematical ability to apply to practical situations. We then aim to give students the confidence to apply knowledge to unfamiliar situations and solve problems in a range of situations through an investigative approach mastering individual concepts to apply in everyday life.

Within the Blue Pathway our learners are exposed to mathematical concepts in the My Thinking area of the curriculum. Developing thinking connects experiences and links ideas.  Teaching in this area involves problem solving. Learning is all exploratory and exposes learners to different experiences to link ideas.

Within the Green Pathway our learners are independent investigators. They are exposed to mathematical concepts to link ideas and apply this to the world around them.

Within the Purple Pathway maths is taught in a semi formal way.  We teach mathematical concepts and learners link and apply these to the world around them in line with their play and experiences.

Take a look at our subject guide to see how this is put into action in each pathway.
